Data Methodology
The SFC Network is an independent search and research interface for Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission public register data. It is designed to make licence histories, regulated activities, firm staffing and colleague networks easier to discover.
Source
Records are sourced from the SFC public register at apps.sfc.hk/publicregWeb/. No authentication is required. The local updater requests active, ceased and dissolved records so historical licence data is retained.
Coverage
The database covers licensed corporations, registered institutions, individual Representatives and Responsible Officers, firm licence records, individual licence records, addresses where available, and SFC regulated activity types 1-13.
Updates
The database is updated daily. The updater can run incrementally and refreshes entities from the SFC register. Entity pages and sitemaps expose the latest available update dates from the local database where provided by the source data.
Network Method
Colleague networks require overlapping tenure at a shared firm. Tie scores combine overlap days, activity similarity and a firm-size adjustment so smaller shared workplaces carry more weight than very large firms.
Important limitations
- This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by the SFC.
- Public-register records can change; verify material decisions on the official SFC register.
- Search filters and network scores are research aids, not regulatory conclusions.
- Names, addresses and licence dates are presented as found or derived from the source data.
