About the Role
Customer Centricity - This role contributes to the delivery of customer outcomes that are reliable, thoughtful, and create meaningful impact for customers and society. The role holder is expected to embed a customer first mindset in all decisions and actions by developing a clear understanding of customer needs, taking end to end ownership to resolve issues, and working collaboratively across teams to continuously enhance the customer journey—both directly and indirectly.
To support the Senior Manager, Commercial Lines and Personal Lines, in managing underwriting activities, maintaining portfolio profitability, enhancing operational efficiency, and delivering excellent service while ensuring compliance with underwriting policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform underwriting assessment and evaluation of new business and renewal applications in accordance with company underwriting guidelines, risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and service standards.
Support personal lines and commercial lines portfolio management through renewal activities, risk analysis, business monitoring, and underwriting decision-making.
Assist in product development, product enhancement, underwriting rule maintenance, and system implementation initiatives to support business growth and operational excellence.
Leverage data analytics, AI-enabled tools, and digital solutions to enhance underwriting effectiveness, operational efficiency, and customer experience.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Distribution, Operations, Technology, Product, and Compliance functions to support business, transformation, and governance objectives.
Support continuous improvement initiatives, provide technical underwriting advice, and perform other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Job Requirements:
University degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
Minimum 1-3 years' relevant experience in General Insurance products.
Experience with underwriting systems, digital platforms, workflow automation, or AI-enabled solutions is an advantage.
Strong analytical and data management skills; experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, and familiarity with AI productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation capabilities.
Good understanding of digital, automation, and AI applications within insurance operations.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and customer service skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning and innovation.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
You are preferred to obtain the license of Insurance Authority (IA) (Paper 1 and 2)
You are required to obtain the relevant license(s) if your job involves regulated activities
